Information Session on Horizon 2020

This event will present Horizon 2020 and the opportunities it provides for US researchers. It will include information on international collaboration possibilities and highlight grants available for individual researchers through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and the European Research Council.

Horizon 2020 is the European Union's research and innovation funding program—the world's largest multinational R&I program. It is open to researchers from public and private organizations from across the world.

Organized by the Delegation of the European Union to the United States, supported by the Government of Flanders, Belgium.

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2017

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2017 was awarded jointly to Jeffrey C. Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael W. Young "for their discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling the circadian rhythm."

This groundbreaking research has helped explain how plants, animals and humans adapt their biological rhythm so that it is synchronized with the Earth's revolutions.

European Research Day by EURAXESS - Washington DC

European Research Day (ERD) is an event where European and non-European researchers meet, discuss and exchange concepts about their research projects, professional and personal experience in their respective diasporas and overall career paths.

In 2017, EURAXESS North America partnered with Google and DISCOVERY. This one-day event celebrated and promoted Europe as a hub for research and innovation through strategic interdisciplinary training workshops with the overarching theme being 'Research Career Development'.
